RI Ice Cream Staple Wright's Creamery Officially Open In Providence

It may be fall, but it's never too late in the season for ice cream. Now, Rhode Islanders can get Wright's Creamery at another location.

PROVIDENCE, RI — The wait is over for Rhode Islanders in the Providence area, Wright's Creamery has officially opened its Sims Avenue location this week.

Inside the Farm Fresh RI building, the location serves as a classic scoop shop and the company's production facility for all ice cream products.

As for what's for sale, ice cream is the headliner, but baked goods and other dairy products are also for sale at the creamery, according to the company.

The location is open Wednesday through Sunday from 1 to 9 p.m. during the week, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday, and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.

Wright's has been a staple in the Providence culinary scene for decades.

The family-owned dairy farm and bakery is located at 200 Woonsocket Hill Rd. in North Smithfield. According to the company, the farm started selling dairy products and baked goods in 1914. Their first retail store was opened in 1970.
