RI For Puerto Rico: Raimondo Says

After Hurricane Maria, people on Puerto Rico need help. Here is the governor's video message.

PROVIDENCE, RI—Here is a message from the governor about helping Puerto Rico. The transcript follows.

This week, Governor Raimondo, Secretary of State Gorbea and Central Falls Councilwoman Rivera ask Rhode Islanders to help our fellow citizens in Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. We've all heard stories of the devastation in Puerto Rico—from high rise nursing homes without power to residents crowding around cell phone towers, desperately trying to reach loved ones.

We’ve already deployed the Rhode Island National Guard to assist with the recovery, just like we did after Hurricane Harvey and Hurricane Irma. Governor Raimondo has reached out to Puerto Rico Governor Rosselló and assured him that Rhode Island stands ready to assist in any way we can. But, we can all help make a difference in the lives of our fellow Americans in Puerto Rico by donating funds to UnitedForPuertoRico.com. If you can find it in your heart or your wallet, please consider making a donation to aid critical relief. Every contribution counts.
