Roger Williams Park Zoo Announces 2022 Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular

PROVIDENCE, RI — The Roger Williams Park Zoo has announced the theme, dates and times for one of their most popular holiday events: the Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular.

This year, the zoo will celebrate 75 years of television with their typical cornucopia of jack-o-lanterns, featuring everything from Mr. Ed to The Walking Dead.

The exhibit opens on Sept. 29 and will run through Halloween, Oct. 31. Tickets are only available online, and should be purchased ahead of time, according to zoo officials.

Prices are as follows:

Friday, Saturday and Sunday Nights

• Adult $21
• Child $18 (ages 2-12)
• Toddlers 1 and under are always free

Monday Through Thursday Night

• Adult $18
• Child $15 (ages 2-12)
• Toddlers 1 and under are always free

There are also scheduled special nights, which include family fun nights, which this year feature the themes of princess nights and superhero nights.

Family fun nights have special themes, featuring meet and greet sessions with costumed characters before hopping on the pumpkin trail. All events are 6 to 8 p.m. and are included in the price of the Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular ticket.

Princess nights are scheduled on Oct. 8 and 11, while superhero nights are scheduled on Oct. 12 and 19.

Sensory Friendly Nights

The zoo will host a sensory-friendly Jack-o-Lantern Spectacular an hour before the trail opens to the public on Oct. 25 and 26 from 5 to 6 p.m. Over 5000 pumpkins will light up the Zoo’s Wetlands Trail, but there will be no music or special effects.
