'Severe Flooding' Closes Providence DMV
The location at 325 Melrose St. is closed on Tuesday and Wednesday after flooding in the city.
PROVIDENCE, RI — Severe flooding in Providence continues to impact residents on Tuesday, as the Rhode Island Division of Motor Vehicles announced that a Providence office will be closed for two days.
The DMV location at 325 Melrose St. in Providence is closed on Tuesday and Wednesday due to "severe flooding", the agency announced.
The State Garage and Road Test Office will be shut down during those days, and customers with an appointment will be contacted within 24 hours to reschedule, the agency said.

This comes after nearly 9-inches of rain in some parts of the city caused major flooding, shutting down highways and causing infrastructure issues, including a building collapse on Peace Street.
