PROVIDENCE, RI — There's so much to do this holiday season in Providence. So much so, that one organization has coupled together a few events for the "Three Nights of Lights" celebration.

This holiday season, GoProvidence has highlighted a three-day festival that includes citywide events, all incorporating the theme of light.

The “Three Nights of Lights” includes three evenings of WaterFire, Providence’s signature arts event, The Avenue Concept’s nighttime public art gallery with illumination, sound and cultural experiences, and ice skating performances presented by FirstWorks, one of Rhode Island’s leading arts and cultural organizations.

“We are grateful to Mayor Elorza and the City of Providence for their support in bringing this series of free holiday events to Providence. This is the time of year that we all gather with family, friends and loved ones,” said Kristen Adamo, President & CEO of Providence Warwick Convention & Visitors Bureau.

“Providence is the perfect place to get away for fun-filled weekend, enjoy a memorable meal or cross some presents off your list. We hope Three Nights of Lights will become the city’s signature holiday event and a part of local holiday traditions.”

Partial WaterFire lightings are scheduled on Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 5:30 to 9 p.m. Santa's Village opens on Saturday at 5:30 p.m., and Santa will arrive by boat during the WaterFire lighting.

Each of the three nights of the WaterFire Holiday Celebration will feature Holiday ArtMart vendors and food trucks offering seasonal treats. A toy drive benefitting the families of Children’s Friend will be taking place each night.

The Avenue Concept will illuminate 12 murals and sculptures throughout downtown. Each night, activations "will add layers of sound and performance to the exhibits and will be staggered to allow people time to explore the route," officials said.

Activation partners include Tomaquag Museum, Center for Southeast Asians, The Columbus Theatre, Julio Berroa and local restaurant and business promotions in their self-guided tours.

This takes place Thursday through Saturday, scheduled for 5 to 9 p.m.
