East Bay Community Action Program will present a 2023 Vision Award to Dr. Tonya Glantz of Rhode Island College

(Providence, RI, May 23, 2023) - Dr. Tonya Glantz, MSW, PhD, Interim Executive Director of the Institute for Education in Healthcare at Rhode Island College, will be honored by East Bay Community Action Program (EBCAP) at its 18th Annual Seaside Gala on June 15 at Atlantic Resort Newport. Dr. Glantz will receive a 2023 Vision Award in recognition of her support of EBCAP and its Transgender Whole Health Program.
According to East Bay Community Action Program, the Vision Awards are presented to individuals and organizations that have made a profound impact on the agency, the lives of its clients, and the surrounding community. Dr. Glantz has been a supporter of EBCAP’s mission and values for many years. With her support, connections, and allyship EBCAP’s Transgender Whole Health (TWH) Program has grown and developed. She has assisted TWH in beginning its work of supporting Rhode Island’s LGBTQ+ community and in making connections with other like-minded organizations. “Dr. Glantz is invested not only in our TWH Program, but in EBCAP’s mission to provide high quality, comprehensive, and accessible health and human services to assist people to achieve their fullest potential,” states Quinten Foster, EBCAP’s Director of Transgender Whole Healthcare. “Her love for our community and programs goes unmatched by allies outside the agency, and her continued dedication to helping us grow despite setbacks speaks volumes to her priorities and values,” Foster adds.
The following community members will also be honored as EBCAP 2023 Vision Award recipients: Brenda and Cameron Booth of Rumford, RI, volunteers with EBCAP’s Career Closet; Gates of Hope, a Fall River, MA non-profit, that works in partnership with EBCAP’s East Bay Recovery Center to provide food and other resources to community members; and Baby Steps Advisory Group members Louisa Boatwright, Amintha Cinotti, Lissa Fernandez, and Linda Finn, for their long-standing commitment and dedication to early childhood education and social development of young children.
