Wanted Providence Man Apprehended: Cops

The Providence man was wanted in Connecticut on a charge of violating his probation from a burglary case, police said.

PROVIDENCE, RI — A Providence man wanted in Connecticut was apprehended Wednesday, police said.

Jerome McCarthy, 37, was charged with violating his probation from a Connecticut burglary case, the Rhode Island State Police said in a media release.

McCarthy was arrested by the state police Violent Fugitive Task Force, according to the release.

"Mr. McCarthy was taken into custody without incident and turned over to officials at the Adult Correctional Institutions," the release said.
