Beer & Wine Tasting to Enrich Public Education in Smithfield

SMITHFIELD, RI - The nonprofit Smithfield Education Foundation announces its second annual Beer and Wine Tasting on Sat., April 6, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Last Resort, 325 Farnum Pike. The event will raise funds for grants to Smithfield Public Schools teachers to advance classroom instruction for students.

“Last year, the Smithfield Education Foundation raised over $8,000 to award 5 grants to Smithfield Public School teachers for the sole purpose of enriching classroom instruction,” said Justine Sands, president of the Foundation. “Throughout our public schools, dedicated teachers and implementing innovative and effective teaching strategies to prepare students for college or careers. Grants from the Smithfield Education Foundation support teachers’ efforts to provide Smithfield students with an exemplary education.:

Tickets can be purchased here for a $25 fee. The Smithfield Education Foundation is a 501c(3) nonprofit organization that provides grants to teachers in the Smithfield Public School system to enhance and enrich the education of our students. Every dollar raised goes directly to schools through grants awarded to teachers.
