Carl C. DiRobbio: WWII Army Vet, Roberts Auto Sales President

Local man died at Village at Waterman Lake, Smithfield, on Veterans Day.

 

Carl C. DiRobbio, 90, of Coolridge Avenue, Greenville died Sunday at the Village at Waterman Lake, Smithfield, according to Anderson Winfield Funeral Home.

He was the husband of the late Mary M. ( Walker ) DiRobbio.

Born in Providence, a son of the late Carlo and Sylvia (DeAngelis) DiRobbio. Mr. DiRobbio was the President of the former Roberts Auto Sales in Chepachet before retiring. He was a WWII Army veteran and was a member of the Balfour Cole Post #64 and was a member of the Smithfield Lions.

He leaves his son, Carl C. DiRobbio, Jr., MD of Lincoln, grandchildren, Christopher, Tamara, Michael and Alicia and great grandchildren, Brady and Colin. He was the brother of the late Anthony, Jack, and Mac DiRobbio and Adelide Spicola.

His funeral will be held Wednesday at 9 a.m. from the Anderson Winfield Funeral Home, Route 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:30 a.m. in St. Philip Church, 622 Putnam Pike, Smithfield. Burial with Military Honors will be in the RI Veteran’s Cemetery, Exeter. Visitation 8-9am Wednesday. In lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to RI Alzheimers, 245 Waterman Street, Providence, RI 02906 www.alz.org/ri
