March Storm Brings Steady Light Snow To Smithfield

A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect for Smithfield and the area, but townspeople and roads seemed unpeturbed by the steady flurries being blown around Friday.

From the Rte. 295 to Rte. 44, travel lanes stayed clear as a series of small contractor and large town plows patrolled the streets. By about 1:30 p.m., most of the 3-5 inches forecast for Smithfield seemed to have fallen. 

Another half inch of snowfall is expected later this evening.
