Milton E. Corey: Retired Smithfield Deputy Fire Chief
Visitation is scheduled for Friday night, and services are scheduled for Saturday for the 44-year member of the SFD.

Milton E. Corey, Deputy Chief, S.F.D. (Ret.), 90, a lifelong Smithfield resident, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2012. He was the beloved husband of Barbara M. (DelRossi) Corey and son of the late Charles M. and Flora (St. Onge) Corey.
Mr. Corey was a member of the Smithfield Fire Department for 44 years, first serving on the volunteer fire department and attaining the rank of Chief, then with the regular fire department before retiring in 1985 as Deputy Chief.

He was a WWII Navy veteran, serving aboard the cruiser USS Helena. He was a former member of the Smithfield Sportsmen's Club, was named Smithfield Man of the Year, and was recently inducted into the Smithfield Heritage Hall of Fame.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his son, Dennis A. Corey of Woonsocket, and his daughter, Donna L. Buehler of Lolo, MT, five grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Charles A. Corey.

His funeral service will be held Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012 at 11 am in the TUCKER-QUINN Funeral Chapel 643 Putnam Ave. (Rt.44) Greenville. Interment with military honors will be in Highland Memorial Park, Johnston.
Visitation Friday 4-7pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to Smithfield Fire & Rescue, 609 Putnam Pike, Greenville, RI 02828 will be appreciated.
