Monday Five: Blood Donors Needed, Pond Paddle, Culinaria at A&W, Natural Gas

Give blood - From the Northern Rhode Island Chamber of Commerce: For hundreds of people hospitalized in our community, blood donors represent hope. With July 4 falling on a Thursday this year, blood collections are challenged. "We’re urging people to consider making a blood donation just before or after July 4 to assure that there is a safe and adequate blood supply on hand for those who rely upon it. Visit www.ribc.org to find a blood drive or donor center near you.

Georgiaville Pond Paddle -  Join us for an evening paddle on scenic and peaceful Georgiaville Pond Friday, July 19, 6 p.m. The group will put in at the historic Smith-Appleby House and make a 2 mile circuit around the pond. The paddle will  pass pine tree covered islands and the town beach, where we'll take a short break and paddlers will have the option of jumping in for a swim. Price: $20/person if you are using one of our boats, $5/person if you are bringing your own boat.

Call or email Erik at the Watershed Council at etalley@wrwc.org or (401) 481-1376 to sign up. Advance sign-up is required so that we can determine how many boats we need and keep the trip from getting too large.
