New England Pest Control Employee Breaks Window at Sovereign Bank

Man promised to compensate bank for repairs

A West Warwick man who left Sovereign Bank upset after an argument with a bank employee broke the bottom window of the bank door on his way out May 31, causing $250 in damage.

When Smithfield Patrolman Paul Gilmore arrived at the bank at about 9:15 a.m., he spoke with a witness to the argument, who said he saw a man, later identified as Craig Licker, 21, of 105 Harding St., West Warwick, leave the counter upset and exit the bank, somehow striking the glass door on his way out, causing a spider crack in the bottom of the window.

The witness followed Licker to the parking lot, where he saw the man get into a New England Pest Control pickup truck.

The teller told Gilmore she had told Licker she was unable to cash his Bank of America check, and he became upset. She said she heard a loud bang as Licker left the building, but didn't see the window break.
