Planet Fitness Coming to Apple Valley Mall

Planet Fitness, the low-price, judgement-free gym chain store is coming to Smithfield, moving in to the former Apple Valley Cinema building on Putnam Pike.

The Valley Breeze reports the eight-screen movie theater will soon be convereted into a 16,000-square-foot workout center. The exercise chain boasts clean, stylish, hassle-free facilities with brand-name cardio and strength equipment and a friendly atmosphere. Memberships start at $10 per month.

The cinema at 445 Putnam Pike closed for the last time in 2010. A report from WPRI.com notes the owners of the business were evicted from the space by Apple Valley Mall for failing to pay $130,000 in back rent.
