Severe Thunderstorms Developing in Smithfield
Heavy wind, hail and heavy rain expected until 8:45 p.m.
The National Weather Service in Boston has issued a Special Weather Statement for Smithfield and the surrounding area until 8:45 p.m., according to the Smithfield EMA.
Thunderstorms are developing over northern Rhode Island. These storms are capable of producing heavy rain, dime sized hail and wind gusts of 40 MPH.
