Smithfield Police Arrest Rite Aid Pharmacist for Stealing Erectile Dysfunction Pills

When Smithfield Police Officer Paul Gilmore spoke with Robert Poholek, 68, of 28 Angelina Ln, Mansfield, MA about Rite Aid's charge he'd stolen erectile dysfunction pills, the pharmacist said he didn't see the "big deal."

Gilmore was called to the Putnam Pike drug store May 7 at about 10 a.m. for a report from the store's loss prevention team that a pharmacy employee had stolen a small amount of erectile dysfunction pills.

Gilmore met with the loss prevention team and Poholek in an office at the store, where the loss prevention employees said the Mansfield man had admitted to them he'd taken a small, undetermined amount of Viagra and Cialis pills. Gilmore read Poholek his rights, and arrested him, transporting him to Smithfield Police headquarters. 

At the station, Poholek admitted to Gilmore that he'd taken Viagra from the drug store, stating they were for personal use and didn't see, the "big deal."

Poholek was charged with embezzlement of under $100, a misdemeanor. Specifically, he is charged with stealing two Viagra pills, two Cialis pills, and two Levitra pills. All of the medications are commonly prescribed to treat erectile dysfunction.
