Thursday Five: Meetings, Reading, Calendar, Speak

Local meetings: Today, the Smithfield Economic Devleopment Commission meets at Town Hall, 6 p.m. and the Sports Advisory Commission meets at 6 p.m. at the Municipal Ice Rink Check out times and venues at the Town Hall website.  

Reading: There's no doubt that reading is an important thing for kids to do — and if you're looking to encourage your little ones to crack open more books [or at least read them on a Kindle or iPad], check out the advice provided by author James Patterson for SmithfieldPatch.
