The warning is in effect from 9 p.m. tonight through 11 a.m. Tuesday, according to Todd Manni at the Smithfield Emergency Management Agency.
"Another coastal storm will move across Southern New England, bringing a period of heavy snow followed by sleet before switching to a period of freezing rain then all rain. Though accumulation totals will be determined by the timing of the switch between snow and rain, 4 – 8 inches are possible for our area," Manni wrote in a release. A messy and difficult morning commute is possible for Tuesday, he reported.
There is also a chance of some isolated tree damage occurring as northeast winds of 5 – 15 mph gust to 40 mph during this storm.
