A 69-year-old Tiverton man is facing felony drug charges after police caught him with 140 bags of heroin and found 37 bags hidden in the ceiling of his house.

Police said Michael Reynolds, of 34 John Duggan Road, was arrested on Monday after an investigation by Tiverton Det. Lt. Michael Carr and Det. Dan Martin with help from the Fall River Police Department’s vice unit.

The investigation led police to Reynolds’ door with a search warrant on Monday. Detectives and uniformed police arrested him in front of his house.

Court records show Reynolds was convicted last year of leaving the scene of an accident causing property damage.

Tiverton police arrested him for that last October and he pleaded no contest in March of this year. He was sentenced to six months of probation and ordered to make restitution.

The only other mark on Reynolds’ record is a 1987 charge of taking shellfish from a polluted area. He pleaded guilty and was fined.
