Free workshop series open to older adults to reduce fall risks
Register now for series being held Monday afternoons in Portsmouth
East Bay Community Action Program’s (EBCAP) Office of Volunteer Services will host “A Matter of Balance” on Monday afternoons, beginning in September, in Portsmouth, RI. This nationally recognized, evidence-based health education series is designed to reduce the fear of falling and increase activity levels among older adults.
Participants learn to set realistic goals to increase activity, change their environment to reduce fall risk factors, and learn simple exercises to increase strength, flexibility, and balance.
All participants must register for the sessions that are scheduled to take place at the Common Fence Point Community Center in Portsmouth, RI on Mondays from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m., September 16th through November 4th.
