How To Help Tiverton Police Win A $12K Grant For K-9 Blue

The contest is being run by the Hometown Foundation, a nonprofit which helps deserving law enforcement agencies and their K-9 units.

TIVERTON, RI — Tiverton police have entered a contest to win a $12,000 grant to support their comfort therapy K-9 Blue.

The contest is being run by the Hometown Foundation and goes until Feb. 28. The Hometown Foundation helps "deserving law enforcement agencies and their K-9 units who have embodied the principles of honor, respect, pride and demonstrated compassion for their community."

To win the grant, Blue needs votes from the public. Blue can be voted for here. The first vote is free, while each additional vote requires a $10 donation to the Hometown Foundation.

"If you didn’t know previously, but all K-9 programs are run off of donations," Tiverton police said in a Facebook post. "Many ways you can help the cause is by voting at the link [above]. If you’re interested in purchasing a Blue T-shirt, Patch, and Stuffed animal message myself or stop by the station! All proceeds go to support Blue's medical needs, trainings, etc."
