RHODE ISLAND — With 2022 about to end, and 2023 coming on New Year's Day, it's time to review some of the trends that defined Rhode Island this year.

The Rhode Island Department of Health (RIDOH) on Friday released its preliminary list for the top baby names of 2022 in the Ocean State.

In Rhode Island, Liam held its spot top boys' name, as it did in 2021. For girls, Charlotte was the top girls' name for 2022. Olivia, which was the top name in 2021, remained popular, coming in at No. 4 in the Ocean State.
