Tiverton Restaurant Hailed As A 'Gem' By Food Network

The restaurant was once featured on Guy Fieri's "Diner's Drive-Ins & Dives."

TIVERTON, RI — A Tiverton restaurant was hailed as a "gem" in a piece on Food Network.

"In nearly 20 years, Guy Fieri has covered the entire country to find Flavortown vibes from coast to coast," the Food Network story said. "Here’s a gem from each state — plus DC! — to celebrate more than 40 seasons of Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives, from fan-favorites still beloved years after being on TV to those Triple D spots with the most unique flavors."

"Originally founded by Evelyn DuPont in 1969 and owned by Domenic and Jane Bitto since 1987, Evelyn’s Drive-In is a legacy of hospitality," Food Network said of the landmark eatery, which was featured in season two of Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives.

"The Tiverton, Rhode Island, institution is all about New England seafood, and it’s famous for the fried clams — still done Evelyn’s way.," the network said.
