Tiverton's 2022 Yard Waste Collection Starts In April
With temperatures warming up, many Rhode Islanders are getting ready to clear out their yards and gardens.
TIVERTON, RI — Spring weather is finally here in Rhode Island, leading many residents to plan their gardens and start cleaning up yard debris from the winter months. Although the warmer temperatures appear to be here to stay, Tiverton residents have a few weeks to wait before weekly yard waste pickup resumes.
Unlike other towns, yard waste collections only happen on Thursdays in Tiverton. Sometimes, pickup happens on Friday, if all pickup can't be completed the day before. Pickups start April 22 and continue once or twice per month. The full calendar is available on the town's website. Here's a look at 2022's yard waste collection dates:
- April 21
- April 28
- May 19
- June 16
- August 18
- Sept. 15
- Oct. 20
- Nov. 3
- Nov. 17
Yard waste must be placed in brown paper bags for collection, with a limit of six per household. During non-collection weeks, residents can drop off up to six bags of yard waste to the transfer station for free.
