Tiverton police share information about a recent text message scam.
TIVERTON, RI — Tiverton police urged residents to be on the lookout for a recent texting scam.
According to police, text messages being received from what looks like EZDriveMA are telling people they have a balance to pay soon. This is a scam.
EZDriveMA is a Massachusetts electronic tolling program which charges tolls for using various highways. Tiverton police verified through EZDriveMA that they would never contact individuals via text message to pay a balance.
