Wednesday: Presidential Debate, Estate Gardens and Jr. Basketball
Five things for hump day in Tiverton and Little Compton.

Weather: There will be a chance of drizzles and scattered showers throughout the night on Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service.
1. THE Sogkonate Garden Club will sponsor a talk entitled “Estate Gardens of Newport” at 7:30 p.m. at the Little Compton Community Center on the Commons. Harry Eudenbach of Newport, gardener and author, has written a book about the topic. Mr. Eudenbach will talk about the creators of the gardens and show slides of the unique horticultural landscape that lies behind the estates’ tall gates.
The program is free and open to the public. The Sogkonate Garden Club is a member of the R.I. Federation of Garden Clubs, Inc.'

2. Tiverton junior basketball player evaluations for 11 and 12-year-old B Division is today.
Players should come prepared to play with sneakers and a drink. Do not bring a ball.

The evaluations start at 6 p.m. at the Pocasset School on Main Road.
3. Join the Pell Center and Newport CIV for an Issues Forum and Debate Watch on Wednesday, October 3. Kick-off the evening at 7:30 PM with a spirited discussion of national security and foreign policy featuring Michael Auslin of the American Enterprise Institute and Michael Cohen of the Century Foundation. We’ll use electronic survey tools to measure audience opinions, and leave plenty of time for questions and answer.
Then, at 9 PM, the main event: Obama v. Romney. Settle in with some popcorn and watch the debate with your Pell Center friends. Our experts will be around to answer questions and we’ll again survey audience opinion to decide who wins and who loses—at least at the Pell Center.
4. Try Kripalu Yoga for the Middle Years today with Karen Moore Holliday, M.A. Karen has a background in teaching, training & counseling. Karen holds degrees in Human Services, Human Resource Management & Transpersonal Studies. She is also a Certified Yoga & Meditation Teacher, Yoga Therapist & Spiritual Mentor.
Classes start at 9 a.m. at the Little Compton Wellness Center, 115 East Main Road. Classe cost $5.
5. At the end of a sensational trial, former football star O.J. Simpson is acquitted of the brutal 1994 double murder of his estranged wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend, Ronald Goldman. In the epic 252-day trial, Simpson's "dream team" of lawyers employed creative and controversial methods to convince jurors that Simpson's guilt had not been proved "beyond a reasonable doubt," thus surmounting what the prosecution called a "mountain of evidence" implicating him as the murderer, according to History.com.
