5-Year-Old Child Hit By Car: Warwick Cops

The child was taken to Hasbro Children's Hospital in Providence, police said.

WARWICK, RI β€” A 5-year-old child was hit by a car in Warwick Thursday afternoon, police said.

"The vehicle involved initially left the scene but the operator and vehicle did return a short time later," the Warwick Police Department said in a media release.

The child was struck on Boylston Street about 3 p.m., according to the release.

The child was transported to Hasbro Children's Hospital in Providence "with serious but non-life-threatening injuries," the release said.

Police asked anyone with information about the inident to call the department's traffic division at 401-468-4200.
