West Warwick Man Wanted On 2020 Domestic Violence Charge Arrested

WARWICK, RI — A West Warwick man wanted for failing to appear in court on a domestic violence charge was arrested early this morning in Warwick and transported by Rhode Island State Police to the Adult Correctional Institute.

Brandon Francis, 26, of 1 East Greenwich Ave., was arrested at around 2:14 a.m. following a motor vehicle stop on Centerville Road in Warwick, state police said in a media release. Francis was transported to the Wickford Barracks, processed, and held without bail pending an appearance before a judge.

Court records show that Francis was arrested in West Warwick back in August of 2020 on a domestic violence/simple assault charge. He pleaded no contest, was issued a no-contact order, released on $1,000 bond, and then failed to appear for a Sept. 3 status conference. A bench warrant was issued for his arrest out of the 3rd Division District Court.
