Armed Bellingham Cop Drove Under Influence In Woonsocket: Report

The Bellingham police sergeant was arrested, WCVB reported.

WOONSOCKET, RI — An armed Bellingham, Massachusetts, police sergeant was charged with operating under the influence in Woonsocket, WCVB reported.

"According to Bellingham police Chief Kenneth Fitzgerald, the department was notified Thursday that Sgt. Kevin Heenan was arrested in Woonsocket while off duty and charged with operating under the influence and carrying a firearm while intoxicated following a motor vehicle crash involving a parked unoccupied vehicle," WCVB said.

The station reported that Heenan was placed on paid administrative leave and that he was "relieved of all police powers and is restricted from accessing department property, systems or equipment unless specifically authorized."
