Armed, Intoxicated Woonsocket Man Endangered Child: Cops
The Woonsocket man also failed to stop for an accident involving damage to a vehicle, police said.
WOONSOCKET, RI — An armed, intoxicated Woonsocket man endangered a child and failed to stop for an accident involving damage to a vehicle, police said.
Sergio Lopes, 31, was arrested shortly after midnight Saturday and charged with child endangerment, driving under the influence of intoxicating liquor and/or drugs, driving under the influence of intoxicating liquor and/or drugs with a passenger under 13, reckless driving, failure to stop for an accident resulting in damage to an attended vehicle, simple assault, disorderly conduct, obstructing an officer in the execution of duty and weapons other than firearms, according to a media release from the Rhode Island State Police.
Lopes was arrested following the investigation of a motor vehicle crash on Route 146 North in Providence, according to the release.

"Lopes was treated at Rhode Island Hospital, processed at the Lincoln Woods Barracks, arraigned, and then released pending a future date at the Sixth Division District Court," the release said.
