Child Pornography Charge Filed Against Woonsocket Man: Cops

The Woonsocket man was arrested by the Rhode Island State Police Computer Crimes Unit/Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.

WOONSOCKET, RI — A Woonsocket man was arrested on a child pornography charge Tuesday, police said.

Nicholas Stone, 27, was arrested by the Rhode Island State Police Computer Crimes Unit/Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.

"Mr. Stone was transported to the Lincoln Barracks, where he was processed, and then to Sixth District Court for arraignment," the state police said in a media release.

Stone was granted a $4,000 bond surety bond, police said, but was "held as a Providence Superior Court bail violator."

In the event of his release, Stone was to have limited internet access and no unsupervised contact with minors.

State police Maj. Kenneth M. Moriarty failed to respond to a request for further information on Stone's case.
