CVS To Lay Off 632 People Who Report To Headquarters In RI: Reports
Of the layoffs, at least 70 were Rhode Island residents, while more than 70 lived in Massachusetts.

WOONSOCKET, RI — CVS Health has reportedly informed Rhode Island regulators the company will lay off 632 in-person and remoted workers employed out of its headquarters in Woonsocket, beginning Dec. 8.
The layoffs became public Monday in a federally mandated notice filed with the Rhode Island Department and Training, NBC 10 reported. The news comes about a week after the company announced plans to eliminate nearly 3,000 jobs, stemming from disappointing financial results.
"Impacted positions are primarily corporate roles," a CVS spokesperson told NBC 10. "The reductions will not impact front-line jobs in our stores, pharmacies, and distribution centers. Decisions on which positions to eliminate were extremely difficult and do not diminish the value that impacted colleagues have brought to the company."
