WOONSOCKET, RI —Rhode Island-based pharmacy giant CVS is launching a nation-wide recruiting effort this week. The company is looking to hire 25,000 positions across the country, including more than 200 in the Ocean State.

CVS will hold a one-day, national recruiting day on Friday. The company will be hiring for both new and existing retail and clinical positions. Most of the available positions are for full-time, part-time or temporary licensed pharmacists, trained pharmacy technicians and nurses.

"These new and existing positions will help the company continue to respond to the needs of communities across the country during the fall and winter months when the incidence of flu is expected to increase and as COVID-19 vaccination and testing remain in high demand," the company said in a statement.
