Gloria Gemma Hope Bus Pulls Up to Woonsocket Job Lot Sept. 14
The visit is a chance for cancer survivors, patients, caregivers and family members to learn about free services and support.

WOONSOCKET, RI—The Gloria Gemma Hope Bus is coming to the Job Lot on Park Avenue in Woosnocket next week to help raise awareness and reach out to cancer survivors, patients, caregivers and family members.
The stop is part of a team effort. Ocean State Job Lot and the Gloria Gemma Breast Cancer Resource Foundation joined forces to bring the bus to Job Lot stores throughout Rhode Island.
The Bus will visit Job Lot's Woonsocket store at 1412 Park Avenue on Wednesday, September 14 from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. If you miss it, you can take a short ride to the Lincoln store at 622 George Washington Highway on Sept. 22 from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Cancer survivors, patients, caregivers and family members are invited to step aboard the Bus to avail themselves of the free services, including information on risk factors, symptoms and screenings, as well as learn about the many free holistic programs and services offered by the foundation. The 38-foot long bright pink RV travels throughout RI and nearby Massachusetts to provide hope and support to cancer patients and those touched by cancer. Over 8,000 visitors experience The Hope Bus each year, as part of the Foundation’s mission to provide free education, access to wellness resources, and support programs for patients and families.
“The Hope Bus serves as the backbone of our community outreach program,” states Maria Gemma Corcelli, executive director at the Gloria Gemma Breast Cancer Resource Foundation. “It delivers our programs, services and resources throughout the area. Our goal is to reach all Rhode Islanders – men, women, all races and ethnicities, and all ages – and particularly where there is a need for breast health education and wellness services.”

“The Foundation works to continuously inspire hope, strength, and determination, and the Hope Bus is very complementary to our ‘Choose Well’ human resources initiative that we’re implementing at Job Lot,” said David Sarlitto, executive director of Ocean State Job Lot. "Cancer can have a profound affect on our associates and our customers. The Hope Bus allows us to provide wellness education and services to them. If the awareness and support can improve or even save one life, you cannot put a price on that.”
