The Millrace Music Series continues with award-winning act High Planes this Friday, October 28 from 6pm – 8pm at 40 S. Main Street, Woonsocket, RI. The night features an intermission costume contest, wood-fired pizza, and two 45 minute sets of live music.

This family-friendly event is free and open to the public. It is rain or shine, held outdoors on a heated patio.

The Series launched Friday, 10/21 with music from Rhode Island’s “loudest and craziest brass band” the Kickin’ Brass. Held in partnership with Lops Brewing’s 80s Downtown Woonsocket Pub Crawl, the event was well attended and visitors loved the throw-back 80s songs reimagined and bellowed out by the 7-piece brass band. Ranging from “Ain’t Nobody” by Chaka Khan to Bon Jovi’s “Living on a Prayer,” the band had the audience dancing and singing along.

Made possible through funding from Citizens “Growing Communities” program and the RI Commerce “Placemaking” initiative, the Millrace Music Series marries tried and true lessons learned from Levitt AMP Woonsocket- free music, original artists, food - and applies them on a smaller scale at NeighborWorks’ Millrace Patio. Each night features one musical act performing two 45 minute sets and food for purchase from a member of Millrace’s Incubator Kitchen.

“Continuing the concerts that bring so many people together is so good for our community. Everyone is having a great time and enjoying the city on a beautiful night!” shares 10/21 attendee Brian Thompson.
