WOONSOCKET, RI—A man was shot in Woonsocket on Monday night. The shooting happened around 10:20 p.m. on East School Street. One person was transported to Rhode Island Hospital and his condition was not immediately known. Police detained a suspect on Cumberland Street not long after the shooting, according to multiple reports. Police have not yet released any information about the shooting and police are actively investigating at both scenes.
