- “Rhode Island law requires that health insurance providers follow the guidelines established by the American Society of Addiction Medicine.” However, we learned on Wednesday that “from 2015 through 2018, UnitedHealthcare did not meet this requirement.” Officials believe that this would have led to “clinically inappropriate coverage decisions.” UnitedHealthcare was given a $100,000 fine. - Mayor Lisa Baldelli-Hunt visited FlockTex and its 35 employees a couple of weeks ago. Located “in the buildings behind Tasca Buick and Patriots Diner,” this is the company that makes the flock covering for the molds “the White House Christmas ornaments are packaged in.” FlockTex has been doing this job for more than two decades. (The Valley Breeze)
- It is time to tune in to O-N Radio's "Radio Squares Survival Championship!" Have you been playing along? Saturday, there will be the single-elimination showdown that happens LIVE at 10 a.m. “You still have a few days to qualify for this invitation-only event and a chance to win the $300 GRAND PRIZE!” (Woonsocket Radio)
- Mark your calendars! Lops Brewing welcomes W’s Mobile Wood Fired Pizza Oven on Friday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. On Saturday, Nanu the Burmese Fusion will be there. (Lops Brewing)
- If you’re looking for a new place to try, head over to Lucky Enough in Providence. Monday’s write-up calls it “a bar set in a brand new green-coded building that looks, from the interior, like it popped out of 1976.” Part sports bar, part nostalgia, and part the bar that wants to welcome you as a regular does so with “messy cheese steaks, heaping hot subs, roast beef sandwiches and Chicago dogs are piled high and meant to spill out.” (RI Monthly)
