Woonsocket Man Admits To Having More Than 1,000 Child Porn Pictures, Videos

WOONSOCKET, RI — A Woonsocket man admitted in federal court on Thursday he possessed more than 1,000 pictures and videos of child sexual abuse, U.S. Attorney Zachary Cunha said.

John Tracy, 40, pleaded guilty to possession of child pornography at U.S. District Court in Providence.

He admitted he stored images and videos depicting child pornography in a storage cloud, on various digital storage devices, and a cell phone. Prosecutors said the devices and access to the cloud were seized from Tracy's Woonsocket home during a court-authorized search on July 14, 2022.

A forensic audit of the devices revealed 1,059 pictures and 24 videos depicting child pornography, according to prosecutors.

Tracy is scheduled to be sentenced on Feb. 1, 2024.
