Woonsocket Man Charged for Monday Night Shooting

WOONSOCKET, RI—A 20-year-old Woonsocket man is facing a slew of charges after he allegedly opened fire on a man sitting in a yard on East School Street Monday night.
Police said Angel Pascual, 20, of Woonsocket, was arrested while carrying a semi-automatic handgun shortly after police responded to a report of shots fired at 541 East School Street at around 10 p.m.
Police said they arrived to find a 27-year-old Asian man had been shot. Witnesses said a man was seen running from the scene and the victim was rushed to Rhode Island Hospital. His condition is not currently known, police said.

Pascual was tracked down by police and captured on Cumberland Street. He's now facing charges of assault with a deadly weapon, discharge of a firearm while committing a crime of violence, carrying a pistol without a permit, possession of a firearm after being convicted of a crime of violence, firing in a compact area, resisting arrest and obstruction of justice.
Court records show Pascual has three pending felony cases in Superior Court, one for breaking and entering, another for narcotics possession and possessing a weapon other than a firearm and another for burglary and felony assault.
