Woonsocket Man Plans Trip to Meet Great Grandchildren after Lottery Win
A city man won $35,000 with a "Wheel of Fortune" instant ticket and is now heading west.

WOONSOCKET, RI—A Woonsocket man is heading west to visit his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren after winning $35,000 with a "Wheel of Fortune" lottery ticket recently.
The Rhode Island Lottery Commission said Monday that the man, who asked to remain anonymous, claimed the price and told lottery officials that he was using the money to go west to visit his family.
Some of his family members haven't been seen in some time. Also, he said, the trip is a chance to meet new great grandchildren he has yet to meet.

The ticket was purchased at Convenience Store at 260 Logee St. in Woonsocket.
The lottery commission also said Monday that a winning $50,000 PowerBall ticket was sold in Rhode Island for Saturday night's drawing. The ticket, sold at the 7-Eleven on Reservoir Avenue in Cranston, has yet to be claimed.
