Woonsocket Man Wanted In Counterfeit Bill Case Caught: Cops

PROVIDENCE, RI — A Woonsocket man wanted for passing bad bills was apprehended during a Wednesday traffic stop, police said.

Eric Nelson, 53, was arrested shortly before noon on a charge of passing of counterfeit certificates, bills or notes, the Rhode Island State Police said in a media release.

The Woonsocket police had a warrant for Nelson's arrest, the release said. He was pulled over and taken into custody on Manton Avenue in Providence, according to the release.

"Nelson was transported to State Police-Headquarters where he was processed and turned over to Woonsocket Police Department," the release said.
