Woonsocket Opens Vaccination Clinic For Senior Residents
The city began administering vaccines to eligible residents age 75 and older Thursday.
WOONSOCKET, RI — The City of Woonsocket opened its point of distribution (POD) vaccination site for eligible senior residents Thursday at the former Monsignor Gadoury School located at 1371 Park Avenue.
The city's POD is currently only administering vaccines to Woonsocket those age 75 and older due to limited vaccine supply. Mayor Lisa Baldelli-Hunt expects that approximately 290 vaccines will be distributed in the first round.
"Today was the first vaccine distribution for Woonsocket residents age 75+ by the City of Woonsocket," said Baldelli-Hunt in a Twitter post Thursday. "Thank you to everyone who arrived for their first vaccine. Also, special thanks to all the volunteers, public safety officials and City staff. - It was flawless!"
