Woonsocket Police: Teen Hurt Riding Dirt Bike
The 14-year-old was injured in a collision with a car, police said.

WOONSOCKET, RI— A 14-year-old boy is reported in stable condition at Hasbro Children's Hospital where he is being treated for broken bones he suffered in an accident Tuesday night, Woonsocket police said. The boy rode his dirt bike through the intersection of Wood and Robinson streets around 8:20 p.m. and failed to stop for oncoming traffic. He was struck by a car. The driver, who was coming along Wood Avenue, was unable to brake in time, police said. The impact "knocked the boy out of his shoes," police said. His injuries are described as serious, but he is expected to recover.

The boy, who was not wearing a helmet, suffered serious but non-life threatening injuries. The boy was transported to Hasbro for treatment. At last check today, he is reportedly in stable condition w/ numerous broken bones. The other operator was not injured. Invest. continues
