Here are the top three stories today in Charleston:
- A Tuesday morning school bus crash has resulted in seven individuals being sent to a local hospital in North Charleston. The crash, in which a 15-year-old pedestrian was struck by the bus, occurred at the Neighbor Store on Montague Avenue shortly before 8:00 a.m. The bus driver, the pedestrian, four students, and a bystander were injured during the crash. (Live 5 News)
- The Charleston Police Department has released photos of a hit-and-run witness. The department is asking the community to review the photos. The department has not issued any warrants for the witness, but investigators want to interview him for the investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact the department. (Live 5 News)
- The Charleston County Sherriff's Office has arrested Desmon Latrell Champagne for an August homicide. The incident occurred on Grimball Road and resulted in the death of Trever Heyward from gunshot wounds. A U.S. Marshals task force assisted in the arrest. He is being held at the Al Cannon Detention Center. (ABC News 4)
