Here are the top three stories in Charleston today:
- Charleston's air carriers will be reopening runways today. The runways were closed in preparation for Hurricane Ian on Thursday as wind speeds increased. - Charleston's Meeting Street has been closed. The street closure is due to a large tree being knocked down in front of the Dewberry Hotel. Crews are working on removing the tree piece by piece. Click to watch the video and view the photos. (ABC NEWS 4)
- Several Charleston County agencies have halted operations. The halt is temporary and is meant to allow the agencies' staff to shelter in place. The primary concern is high winds that can place crews in danger. The agencies will resume operations when it is safe to do so. Click for an updated list of agencies that have halted operations.
