Avondale Christmas Tree Installed
City of Charleston Urban Forestry workers installed a 24-foot Cthistmas tree at Avondale Point Thursday

The massive 20-plus-foot-tall Christmas tree installed Thursday at Avondale Point came from Thackeray Farm on Wadmalaw Island.
A crew of five men wrestled it into place with the help of a crane and cherry-picker on Thursday morning. The Urban Forestry Department is also responsible for putting up official Charleston Christmas decorations throughout the city.
