- A North Charleston bat tested positive for rabies. The test was performed by the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control. According to the department, two individuals were exposed to the bat near Sentry Circle and Royal Palm Lane. Residents are reminded to never handle bats with bare hands. (wpde.com)
- North Charleston Fire investigators believe that a massive apartment complex fire was started by a cigarette that was put out in a plastic flowerpot. The fire occurred at Cedar Grove Apartments on Oct. 7 and displaced more than 60 adults and children. Two firefighters received minor injuries while responding to the blaze. (Live 5 News WCSC)
- The Charleston Metro Chamber Of Commerce is searching for volunteers to staff the Charleston Beer Fest. Each volunteer will receive a free shirt, festival admission, and a ticket to the 2023 event. The festival will be held at North Charleston's Riverfront Park on Saturday, Oct. 22, from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. There will be over 50 breweries in attendance. Click to register to volunteer.
