
UPDATE 6:37 p.m.: The Arthur Ravenel Bridge has now reopened to pedestrian traffic, according to the Charleston Police Department statement.
The U.S. Coast Guard responded to fight the fire on the boat below the bridge.
ORIGINALLY POSTED AT 6:21 p.m.: A Charleston Police statement issued Thursday afternoon confirmed a boat had caught fire beneath the Arthur Ravenel Bridge between Downtown Charleston and Mount Pleasant.
