Charleston Police are investigating a burglary and an attempted break-in at two homes on Toura Lane

A burglar broke the lock on the back screen door to get inside a home on Toura Lane in Shadowmoss on Dec. 4, according to a Charleston Police Department report.
The daylight burglary happened between 9:50 a.m. and 6:20 p.m. while the homeowner was away. Once inside the burglar stole a pair of rings worth $500 and approximately $15 in loose change stored in a couple of cups on the homeowner's bedroom dresser, the report stated.
The victim told officers the screen door had been locked but the wooden back door inside the screen door may not have been locked.
