Candidate's Sign Defaced With "Pleez Rape"

A campaign sign for a Charleston County Council member has been defaced, with a plea for someone to rape the female candidate.

Councilwoman Colleen Condon is herself a rape survivor. 

The sign was returned to the Democratic Party headquarters in West Ashley.

One of Condon's supporters came across one of her campaign signs that had the message "pleez(sic) Rape" scrawled above Condon's name.

"You know I don't care if you want to state your beliefs, or if you don't agree with me," Condon said. "But as survivor of rape I find this particularly offensive."
